Jane Carter Nourish and Shine Review

Updated on August 1, 2013

Hair Product for Dry and Frizzy Hair

Atlanta is hot and humid during the summer months, that's why people call it Hotlanta! With my hair being natural and me wearing my hair in heat straighten styles, the hot air makes my hair revert back to my natural hair texture, along with dry frizz.

My hair would be so dry from me heat straightening as well as dry from the sun which caused my hair to become heat damaged. I needed a product that would fight frizz and keep my hair moisturized and shiny all day without feeling sticky and weighed down.

Recently I came across a product called Jane Carter Solution Nourish and Shine and I've fell in love with this product! The hair product nourishes and keeps the moisture in my hair.

In this article, I'll give my review about this product and tell you how this product worked well with my natural hair.

Answer This!

Nourish Hair and Scalp

My boyfriend brought home a small 4oz tub of Jane Carter Solution for himself to put in his hair since he has a dry scalp.

I'm a product junkie and love to try new hair products, so I secretly started to use the hair butter. (He needs to start hiding stuff from me! LOL!)

The product has an yellow creamy texture that is not sticky. It has a sweet flowery scent to it that makes your hair smell very good. A pea size is all it takes to keep the moisture in your hair.

Ingredients is all natural which is great because unnatural hair products can be harsh to your hair and can lead to dry brittle hair.

Ingredients- Organic illipe, mango, kokum, and shea butters, grapefruit, (vegetable derived) sources of vitamins A,D & E, and squalene.

Jane Carter Solution Nourish and Shine

Jane Carter Solution Nourish and Shine is a great hair product to hold in moisture to keep hair from becoming dry and frizzy. Also good for dry skin.

How to Keep Hair Conditioned

This is a step by step guide on how I use Jane Carter Nourish and Shine to keep my hair from becoming dry from the summer humidity.

  1. I shampoo and condition my hair. I leave in my conditioner in my hair for about 5 to 10 minutes before I wash it out.
  2. Once I wash out my conditioner, I towel dry my hair and then add in a deep conditioner. I like to use a heat cap while deep conditioning to make my hair get a lot more moisture then just the deep conditioner alone. I do this process for about 2 to 3 hours. ( I know this is long so I do it on a day I don't have anything to do.)
  3. When I'm done with deep conditioning, I wash it out, towel dry, add in a leave-in conditioner, and then add Jane Carter Nourish Shine to seal in the moisture.
  4. I part my hair in 4 sections and braid each section and let my hair air dry. ( I like to wrap my hair up with a silk scarf while doing this and let it air dry overnight.)
  5. When my hair is 80% dry, I take down my hair and then blow dry, flat iron, and style. ( I always use a heat protection spray while using heat appliances.)

My Hair is Soft With No Frizz!

I'm loving my shiny hair!

After using Jane Carter, I've noticed the difference in my hair. My hair is so soft, easily managable, and no frizz at all. I love how my hair doesn't look fried at the end of the day!

I get compliments on my hair all the time and people always think my hair has a relaxer in it that keeps my hair always straight. If it wasn't for Jane Carter's product, my hair would be dry, frizzy, and start breaking off. I also use it between washes as well.

Also, another good thing about this product is that you can use it on your dry skin instead of using lotion, and again, a little goes a long way!

This summer I'm taking a trip to Memphis, TN, and San Antonio, TX, which is known for their extremely dry and hot summers, so I'll make sure I have Jane Carter handy when my hair is feeling thirsty.

How To Achieve An Curly Bob Hairstyle

My hair is about chin length when straighten with a lot of cut layers. To achieve a curly hair bob, I use satin foam rollers and sleep with them in my hair each night.

Before I put my rollers in, I put a pea size of Jane Carter Solution in my hair. Once rollers are in my hair, I wrap my hair up with a silk scarf to prevent my rollers from falling out and also keeps my hair from rubbing against my pillow since cotton pillows absorbs the moisture out of my hair.

Each morning I take the rollers out and finger through my hair. Style last all day and is perfect for summer time when you want to use less heat.

This style can be used for any hair lengths.
